Tennis Team Making Some “Racquet”

Submitted by bvessa on September 30, 2009 – 11:10 amNo Comment

The Lady Knights tennis team has improved every season, increasing its competitiveness and record with every match.   This season the team is 3-4 overall and 3-2 in Conference.

The ladies put forth hard effort, but lost in their home match against Clayton on September 14.  Morgan Nelson, a senior who was an all-conference selection as a sophomore, won 6-3, 6-4, in singles competition and 10-4 in her doubles match. “I played pretty good. I thought I wasn’t going to (perform well), but I did better than I expected,” said the Lady Knight captain.
Coach Kimble feels confident that the team will be one of the top teams this season. “We’re doing well, but we have had some rough spots,” said Coach Kimble. “We have to do better at coming back into the the match when we’re down early. We kind of beat ourselves up too much and are too hard on ourselves.”
