Career Outline: Fashion Public Relations Specialist (a.k.a. Fashion publicist, fashion media relations specialist)

 Description – A fashion publicist helps apparel companies and retail stores build and maintain a favorable public image. They must find creative ways to keep the company’s brand name in the public eye.

Career - consists of arranging fashion shows, launching stores, designers’ parties, covering media, overseeing promotion and production of events

Salary – (beginning)$20,000 – (advanced)$100,000 or more per year.

Education and other Qualifications – 4 year degree in public relations, coursework in fashion and journalism, internship for fashion publication or outlet.

Skills – Journalistic basic knowledge, excellent written and oral communication skills. A fashion publicist has to be someone who can maintain stress well, is interpersonal, and can multi-task.
