Coach Deal gives a pep talk to his girls.
On Thursday, September 24, the KHS Junior varsity volleyball team hit the gym to play their sixth game. The Lady Knights didn’t let their record get in the way of playing hard.
At the beginning of the first set Knightdale put up a battle with a 12-hit rally against the Spartans. The Knights slowly got left behind, ending the first set 25-13, Spartans. The Lady Knights had to win the second set or SSS would take the victory, but the Spartans captured the win with a final score of 25-11.
Even when the Knights appeared as if they were out of the match altogether, head Coach Deal wouldn’t let them give up. Despite the loss, Coach Jeff Deal remains patient with his girls, “We want to win, but the main purpose for JV is to get the girls ready for the varsity level. We used three hits better and we are hitting a little harder, so we are making some progress. We just want a win.”
