Zack Sterman, member of Of Colour

Influenced by musical groups such as U2 and Neutral Milk Hotel, an original band is emerging in the Raleigh/Knightdale area called Of Colour
Zack Sterman, a member of the band and a senior at Knightdale High School, stated that there are several things that have contributed to his success and the success of Of Colour, among them, literature.    ”Reading, it really expands your mind,” he said.   Sterman’s parents are also a major resource for him.  In fact, Zack’s interest in playing the guitar was inspired by his father, even though he wasn’t allowed to touch his dad’s guitar,  ”My parents support me the best way they can,”  Sterman remarked.
Of Colour often performs at the Brewery, a local music venue.  They showcase their talent about four times a week with one of their most recent appearances having a turnout of over 150 people.   They have started recording their second album at The Flying Tiger Sound.  It’s scheduled for release in October 2009.
