Meet the Cast of the Best Christmas Pageant Ever- Jennifer Ruiz

The annual winter production of The Best Christmas Pageant Ever attracts both newcomers and veterans to the audience and stage of Knightdale Repertory Theatre. Although the same play shows every year, KRT manages to keep it new with fresh faces and a different technical take on the play each year.

The main character, Beth Bradley, has been played by Deanna Adams for the past three years, but her best friend Alice has changed each time. This year, freshman Jennifer Ruiz takes on the role of Alice. Ruiz has never been in a play since her role as a candy cane in first grade, but is familiar with performing. For five years she has played the violin but had to quit when she came to Knightdale. “I got involved in theatre because Knightdale doesn’t offer orchestra program,” says Ruiz.

Due to the multiple productions of plays for the Fall Season, rehearsals for The Best Christmas Pageant Ever have been taking place at Knightdale during Saturdays, but that hasn’t been a hindrance. “Rehearsals are going good,” she says. “They include me in everything.” The Best Christmas Pageant Ever opens December 10th continues through the 12th.
