Summer has left and fall has taken its place, meaning it’s time to pack up those flip-flops and bring out those winter coats. Here are a couple of tips for you to stay a few steps ahead of the cold at Knightdale High School.
- Blend with the scenery – Incorporate the well-known colors of fall into your everyday wear. These colors include orange, red, brown, tan, and gold. Although this is a season of little warmth, it’s a season that calls for warm tones.
- Go skinny…. – jeans that is! Jeans are appropriate all year round, but are most compatible for the winter and fall. Throw in a nice pair of skinny jeans to stay current with jean style. Females can even jump a fashion fad ahead by incorporating “cigarette leg” jeans and males can do the same with a descent pair of slim cut jeans.
- These boots are made for… – walking (in the snow)! As old man winter tries to push his way into North Carolina, the best way to greet him is with a nice pair of boots. These days, boots come in every style you can possibly think of. Although there are now boots with peep toes, the best type of boot are the ones that actually keep your feet insulated and warm.
- Natural in Neutrals – Of course nothing completes many girls’ outfits the way that make-up can, but when it comes to fall, there’s nothing worse than too much of it. For fall it’s time to go natural in neutrals. Instead of bright and bold colors, stick with gold and tan eye shadows and blushes. Touch everything up with only a dab of lip gloss and eyeliner. There is no need for much foundation because the cold weather will automatically close and tighten your pores giving you a smooth and beautiful complexion.
- Put on Gloves and Mittens – To add a little flair to your everyday wear, slip on a pair of warm mittens. Nothing screams adorable and flirty more. Boys can also be daring with a pair of gloves. You can even take it a step up by not matching them with your outfit. This creates a more unique look, attracting attention to a seldom worn accessory. Not only are they cool, but they’ll also keep your hands warm at those long bus stop waits.
- Pack up bold jewelry – Fall and winter are the seasons of simplicity. No need to put on big, colorful hoops, or bright colored beads. Instead, put on small earrings such as pearl and diamond studs. If you want to wear necklaces or chains, go slim and tiny with long chained charm necklaces.
- Stay warm – EVERYONE can tell when your warm and when you’re not. No more flip-flops, shorts, miniskirts, and tank tops. Pack up the summer and embrace the cold. This will help you in more ways than one.
