Blossom into Spring Makeup
By Mercellina Gomes
During spring, simple makeup with hints of color is best. Choose neutral shades, rather than heavy browns or metallics. When it comes to springtime makeup be sure it is light and fresh to compliment your skin tone and eyes.
As far as your eyes stay away from your blacks and browns, light shades like pink and lavender appear to look the best in spring season. Eyeliner and mascara are always optional, but don’t go to heavy on it! MAC cosmetics, Clinique Color, and Bobbi Brown are some of the best brands of eye shadow.
Brown eyes look amazing with any green or purple eye shadow. Blue eyes look best in oranges, coppers, and gold. Green eyes look great in purples, pinks, and reds. For hazel eyes, stick with warm tones, bronzes, and greens. For grey eyes, compliment natural colors with grays, cool tones, and browns. A colorful smokey eye look is also well suited for the spring season; springy blues or greens with added shimmer are also a way to stand out!
For blush, choose a mixture of pink and peach – these colors are light and won’t overpower rest of your makeup. For a fresh look try a baby soft rosy pink blush with a dash of shimmer on top. Lipstick is optional; pinks are first choice for springtime or any other you feel suits your face will be fine. For lip gloss, glossy pinks and salmon are good compliments to natural lip color. Nail polish is also considered a makeup too, enhancing hands and feet while accessorizing any outfit! Good colors for spring would be anything bright and colorful, pinks and paler shades.
Use these tips to walk out the door feeling confident and cute; you’ll be catching people’s eyes in no time!
