Chances are if you’ve liked Superbad, Nick and Nora’s Infinite Playlist, and Year One, you’re going to want to catch Youth in Revolt; the comedy featuring the popular Michael Cera hit box offices on January 8th.

The movie revolves around Nick Twisp, played by Michael Cera, a quiet 16 year old outcast who meets the girl of his dreams while on a one week get away at a religious mobile home camp. The plot deals with Nick trying to reunite with his new found love Sheeni Saunders, played by Portia Doubleday, while dealing with his alternate persona which he created in order to advise him on what to do to be “bad”.

The movie is a hysterical and original take on teen love and puts comedy into taboo subjects. “It represents the essence of revolt whether through misbehavior or other means,” said Cammie Perry. “It was a really funny movie and I enjoyed it.” Cera’s quiet, black humor in this film could be confusing or hard to understand for new viewers, but chances are if you’ve seen other films with him in it you will find the movie very amusing. Filled with comical, witty lines and hilarious scenes, I give this movie a solid 3/5 stars.

This movie is rated R for sexual content, language and drug use. If you are under 17, you should see the movie with parental consent or with someone of age.
